The Universal Declaration of Human Rights includes the right to seek and enjoy asylum in other countries. Under international law, this includes the right to remain in the country while the asylum request is investigated. A copy of the Universal Declaration is on the wall of our meeting room.
This month, we are responding to the on-going crisis of the treatment of immigrants and refugees, by sharing donations with RAICES, an organization which works near the Texas/Mexico border, defending the rights of immigrants and refugees, empowering individuals, families, and communities, and advocating for liberty and justice.
Please be generous. Because we are still not all meeting in person, you can contribute online or send a check to the RYSEC office.
