LEARNING FOR JUSTICE In our work with educators, schools, students and communities, Learning for Justice seeks to uphold the mission of the Southern Poverty Law Center: to be a catalyst for racial justice in the South and beyond, working in partnership with communities to dismantle white supremacy, strengthen intersectional movements and advance the human rights of all people. This month, as part of our theme of “Holding History,” we are sharing our donations with the Southern Poverty Law Center.  Among their many projects to combat hate is their project for correcting history.  Their Teaching Hard History podcast is a tool for helping K-12 teachers honestly teach about the Confederacy and the Civil War.  This is especially important in our time, when educators committed to honest classroom discussions about white supremacy are being opposed by an organized campaign against such honesty.

Please be generous.  Because we are still not all meeting in person, you can contribute online or send a check to the RYSEC office.

Please mark your check or online donation “Sunday Sharing,” to be sure it’s split between our sharing partner and support for the programs of the Society. Checks may be mailed to: RYSEC, 4450 Fieldston Road, Riverdale, NY 10471.
