How to Manage Stress and Achieve Harmony

Whether you prefer to work fewer hours or need to work more hours, job stress and the work-life balancing act is a never-ending battle for many people today. But balance is an illusory goal in today’s world. Angela Grotto will discuss the more realistic and effective strategy of work-life management – making daily choices between work and family with the goal of achieving harmony. She will also discuss today’s stressors and share coping techniques that can help both the overworked and underemployed create work-life harmony.

About the speaker:
Angela Grotto is an Assistant Professor in Management at Manhattan College. She holds a doctorate degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Baruch College and The CUNY Graduate Center. Angela teaches Intro to Management, HR Management, and Career Management. Her research focuses on work-life management, employee well-being, work-family policy, gender and leadership, and employee turnoverAngela also has 8 years of experience as a survey consultant at Mercer-Sirota where she partnered with HR and senior executives in designing and utilizing strategic employee surveys to improve employee morale and organizational effectiveness. She currently provides work-life consulting to local non-profit organizations.
