Courage

Paths of Courage: Heroes and Saints

As we focus in October on the ethical path of courage, RYSEC Leader Jone Johnson Lewis will reflect on two of the models or archetypes of living with courage:  heroes and “saints.”  We usually think of a hero as someone who stands out and leads the way, who meets adversity and danger with courage and strength, whether for glory and fame, or for the common good. While “saint” is often used in particular religious contexts, we’ll be considering a more universal sense of those who embody the values in which they believe, people who embody goodness.

Sunday Sharing

Contributions to "Sunday Sharing" are shared between RYSEC and this month's sharing partner as we try to contribute to making a more humane world.  This month, we focus on an organization that is trying to save some environmentally-sensitive forest land in New York, with sacred landmarks from Native American heritage.
