Orientation and Identity in Elementary School

LGBTQ+ kids are in every classroom, in every school, at every grade, just like heterosexual and cisgender kids. Teachers want to do/say the right thing, but need open discussion, training, and permission/support from administrators and policy. Kids know much more about these topics than given credit for, but often lack the opportunity to have age appropriate, adult lead conversations. Sadly, they may get the message that this is secret information that is wrong to talk about. All kids benefit from learning the appropriate ways to use their words. Gay is not a bad word!

More About Sunday’s Program

Leader Jone Johnson Lewis will preside.

11 a.m. is our usual gathering time, to meet and greet one another.  We start the formal program at 11:15 and usually end about 12:30.  After that, we have a time of informal conversation.
