Humanist Action Ghana

This Sunday, we’ll take a look at the work that Humanist Action Ghana is doing to end witchcraft accusations and the violence that women face due to them in Northern Ghana. Humanist Action Ghana’s Director, Yvonne Stennicke Larsen, will discuss how her personal experiences with witchcraft beliefs influenced her journey towards her role and the vision she has for the NGOs program.

Our presenter, Yvonne Stennicke Larsen, is 32 years old and a mother of one.  Yvonne’s interests include travelling, trying foods from various places and watching Sci-fi movies and TV shows.  Yvonne started out as a nanny but got interested in nonprofit work when she got the chance to volunteer with the Humanist Service Corps program in 2015. She stayed with the program over the years and led its projects in different parts of Ghana.  Yvonne has dreamt of starting an NGO to support vulnerable women in Ghana and is excited to see those dreams finally coming true.

Our speaker will join us via Zoom, and we will hold this 11 am meeting entirely on Zoom.  11-11:15 is gathering time, and we’ll end by about 12:15 pm, with social time (on Zoom) until 12:45.

Ethics for Children is in-person, 10am - 11am with supervised play until 12:15pm, and requires in-person registration.
