Featuring Friction Farm
Modern-folk music duo Friction Farm is a husband and wife team of traveling troubadours. Aidan Quinn and Christine Stay combine storytelling, social commentary and humor to create songs of everyday life, local heroes, and quirky observations. They have been Kerrville New Folk Finalists, Falcon Ridge Emerging Artists, and South Florida Folk Festival Songwriter winners.
This is a child-friendly event!
Friction Farm’s latest CD, “So Many Stars” was inspired by their travels across the country witnessing the collision of strong political polarity with personal kindness, the intersection of fragility and breathtaking beauty. From ballads to anthems each song is filled with harmony and hope.
The Coffee House @Ethical brings you joy, courage, and wisdom through music the second Sunday of every month. Please join us!
$15 at the door ($5 for children 3-13). This includes a cup of hot or, in season, iced coffee. Other goodies available for a reasonable cost.
Doors open at 2:30pm / Show is from 3-5pm
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION & PARKING:
Public Transportation: The New York City BX7 and BX10 buses stop at 239th street and Riverdale Avenue, at the Monument in the traffic circle. We are an easy 5 minute walk from there. Or, you can take the New York City #1 subway train to 242nd Street and walk up a large, somewhat gradual hill. Use NYC MTA’s Trip Planner to help you navigate your trip via public transportation. Google Maps can also help you map your trip if you choose the public transportation option.
Parking: A limited amount of street parking spots may be available within a few blocks of the Society for Ethical Culture. Do not park north of the Society building past the metal barrier and blue sign – that is a private street and you will be towed.
Free Parking available across the street at the Fieldston School with parking pass: There may be a limited number of spots at the Fieldston School lot directly across the street from the Society for Ethical Culture building. Most parking will be available up the driveway directly north of the main lot. Look for our sandwich board next to the driveway, and tell the security officer in the booth that you are parking for the Society for Ethical Culture event.
Cars parked at the Fieldston School MUST have a parking pass. You can obtain a parking pass when you purchase advance tickets via Eventbrite. Please download and print the parking pass after you buy your tickets. A limited number of parking passes will also be available at the door.
Please Note: There are a limited number of parking spots at the Riverdale-Yonkers Society for Ethical Culture, directly in front of our building. Those are reserved for handicapped parking or for those with limited mobility.
