Let’s Tackle Loneliness One Friendship at a Time

We are honored to have Leader-in-Training Louise Jett with us (virtually) for this platform meeting.

As a child, Leader-in-Training Louise Jett befriended a gruff stranger who lived next door, despite her mother’s disapproval. Their friendship remains close to her heart today. During this Platform, she will explore how humans crave connection and how we can tackle the loneliness epidemic one friend at a time, even during a pandemic.

In-person: we will have LIMITED in-person participation. Our presider, Jone Johnson Lewis, will be at the Meeting House, and our speaker will join us on the large screen there via Zoom.  Please register using the button on this page.  Registration is open from the previous Sunday through the day before the meeting at 5 pm. A reminder that proof of vaccination (at least first dose) is required if attendee is 12 or older. Also required: mask while indoors, sanitize hands, respect social distance.

Zoom: we will include Zoom participation.  See below for how to join the Zoom meeting.

We will have gathering time in-person and on Zoom from 11-11:15 to socialize a bit, then begin promptly at 11:15 am ET.  We will try to end by 12:15, reducing in-meeting participation.  In-person socializing time (with social distancing and masking) will be until 12:45 pm, the Zoom room will be open until 1 pm for socializing.
