Fifty years after giving his founding address, Felix Adler reflected upon that day: “. . .the people [interested in starting an Ethical movement] asked with intense feeling, what consecrating influence shall we bring into our own lives, and particularly into the lives of our children? – indeed it was a concern for the children even more than for themselves that led to the formation of these societies.”

Felix Adler Lays CornerstoneToday we reflect on the history of people who intentionally centered their lives around the study and practice of ethics, who built a community that placed “Deed Above Creed,” and who continue to inspire us. We also commit ourselves to future generations by promoting a reverence for life and finding relevance for ethical values. We will be joined by members of other Ethical Societies in a morning of music, words and movement

Note change of place: if you’d like a ride to the New York Society (assembling at 10 am at 4450 Fieldston Road) please call or email the RYSEC office by May 13.  We will try to have a video stream of the event showing at RYSEC but it will not be interactive, so while you can come to the Society at 11 am for that viewing, we encourage you to join us at the New York Society for this exciting anniversary event.
