Ethics for Children FAQs

What is required to register my child?
Just come and visit any Sunday when you’re ready and fill out a simple form. For safety reasons, we need to collect contact information and have parents or caregivers sign a release. Register online
Is there a registration fee?
We offer Ethics for Children with free registration and no set participation fee. We welcome contributions to help sustain our programs. Contributions help to hire our teachers and purchase necessary materials. We appreciate your generosity. Register online
Are children expected to attend every week?
We do not require anyone to attend every week, as we know that children and families are very busy. For example, you may want to only attend our L.E.A.F Sundays, which meet once per month. However, it is most effective for continuity and relationship building that children do participate weekly.
Are parents or caregivers required to participate in Ethics for Children?
Any parent or caregiver is welcome to observe Ethics for Children as often as they’d like. We may ask adults periodically to volunteer in small ways to help with our programs. We also invite parents to come upstairs to the main meeting room and participate in the regular Sunday “Platform meeting” which many find interesting and meaningful. It is not mandatory to stay in the building or attend our Platform meetings for adults.
Will the children interact with adults?
One of our goals is to engage children in the experience of creating ethical community. Our children and adults have the opportunity to be their best selves when they are active in a multigenerational community. One Sunday per month, the children will participate in seasonal festivals and celebrations with the adults in the main meeting room of our building. We will also be creating other projects and opportunities that will foster deeper connections between our children and adults. See schedule
How will the parents stay informed about the Ethics for Children programs?
Our Ethics for Children Coordinator will stay in touch regularly with parents about what the children are learning and what is coming up. All parents may receive our email newsletter list, which offers news and upcoming events at the Society for Ethical Culture.
